Annual Meeting 2019 – The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology
Today, more and more, the research conducted in labs travels the full journey from bench to bedside. Whether you are examining the genetics of disease or the possibilities of a new technology to diagnose, treat, or even prevent an eye condition, this work often begins with a burning question that leads to more questions and answers. Those answers and more questions may journey to a patient’s bedside, for a novel treatment. Still, the treatment may lead to more questions — bringing us back to the bench with more questions. To highlight this important work and its evolving journey, ARVO 2019 will have the theme “From bench to bedside and back.”
Filatov Memorial Lectures 2019
Filatov Memorial Lectures-2019 is an international ophthalmology conference to be held on 23-24 May 2019, at the Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy, Odessa, Ukraine. The conference is Ukraine’s premier international event in the field of ophthalmology. Over 1,000 delegates from Ukraine and abroad are expected. Keynote Lectures, main sessions with discussions, satellite symposia, roundtables, workshops, and a poster presentation session, will focus on current issues of ophthalmology. Conferences languages are English, Ukrainian, and Russian. Simultaneous interpreting will be provided.
European Society of Ophthalmology 2019 Congress
The European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE) is made up of 44 national member societies in geographical Europe organising the biennial SOE Congress as well as awarding educational grants, organising the EuLDP programme, sponsoring lectures for clinicians and scientists across Europe and forming the SOE Young Ophthalmologists.
Artificial intelligence in ocular medicine: Seeing into the future
In April 2018, the FDA approved the first Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled device to detect “more than mild diabetic retinopathy.” Globally, additional AI devices have been approved for use in ophthalmic clinics and more are in development. Despite these advances, many clinicians and researchers are unaware of how the technology works, what technology has been approved for clinical use or is in the development pipeline and how to integrate these potential technologies into their research or clinical practice. Researchers face many challenges when developing these algorithms and moving the resulting products from the lab to the clinic.
European Association for Vision and Eye Research
The Ophthalmology world is fast evolving and requires keen cooperation and harmonization between research, device innovations, and technical refinements.
The European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER) aims at encouraging the different aspects of research–basic, clinical and translational- concerning the eye and vision, and promoting mutual collaboration between different specialists and institutes involved in this field, by means of publications, exchange of information and, particularly, meetings like the 22nd EVER Congress.
The International Symposium on Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics
It gives us a great pleasure to announce the 15th ISOPT Clinical – The International Symposium on Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, The Retina Chapter to take place November 7-9, 2019 in Valencia, Spain. The meeting will be for those who: are interested in clinical research, wonder how drugs are developed, appreciate the opportunities and limitations of new technologies and are industry representatives and collaborators. A team of clinical investigators, clinicians, academy-based researchers, the industry and regulatory bodies will lead the presentations and discussions highlighting:
• Drugs and technologies that we own now and their best use in specific clinical situations
• Drugs and technologies that are in late phase development and their expected impact
• Defining and addressing the unmet medical needs that are still evident
